The No. 2/2 Ohio State Buckeyes (22-3, 13-1 B1G) beat RV/- Nebraska (16-9, 8-6 B1G) on Wednesday night by an 80-47 margin in the heart health game.

The defenses began the game strong, but the Buckeyes used a 9-2 run over the final five minutes of the first quarter to lead 14-7 after 10 minutes. Ohio State had runs of eight and six unanswered points in the second quarter to build a 33-19 lead at halftime. The Buckeyes used a 29-15 advantage in the third quarter to increase their lead to 62-34 after 30 minutes. OSU also had the advantage in the fourth quarter to earn the 80-47 win.

Jacy Sheldon was the lone player to reach double figures in the first half and finished with 23 points on the back of five three-pointers. Cotie McMahon had 20 points and 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. Rikki Harris also scored in double figures by tying her season-high 11 points.

How it Happened
Both teams started strong on defense as the game was tied at five at the media timeout with 4:34 remaining in the quarter. Rebeka Mikulášiková scored the next two baskets and the Buckeyes ended the quarter on a 5-0 run to take a 14-7 lead into the second quarter.

After a pair of Nebraska free throws, Ohio State scored the next eight points to extend its lead to 22-9 with 7:17 to play in the first half. The Huskers answered with back-to-back layups but a trio of Buckeye three-pointers down the stretch gave OSU the 33-19 lead going into the locker room.

Ohio State started the third quarter with a 13-0 run to extend the lead to 46-19 with 6:55 remaining in the quarter. Scoring largely alternated for the remainder of the quarter as the Buckeyes had the 29-15 overall advantage. Harris wrapped up the third quarter with her third triple to give OSU a 62-34 lead after 30 minutes.

The Buckeyes didn't score more than five-consecutive points and the Huskers didn't score more than three-unanswered points in the fourth quarter as OSU had the 18-13 advantage in the quarter and finished with an 80-47 win.
