The US hasn't had a Toyota Land Cruiser for a few years now, so this Lexus is next best option. A body on frame construction, naturally aspirated and proven 1UR V8, and the benefit of being the last offering of this chassis might make this the best and most reliable GX ever made. The 2024 GX550 looks promising but ditches the swing out tailgate and 1UR for a power lift gate and the 3.4l twin turbo V6 Toyota is now using for it's more demanding applications. The new Land Cruiser will be a more affordable option, but it will have a 2.4l turbo 4 cylinder and it will be priced starting in the mid 50,000 range.
