What if the new design identity was based on the idea of the human life cycle?

Since 2010, Laurens van den Acker’s design strategy has reflected six major stages of our lives: love, exploration, family, work, leisure and finally the wisdom that comes with these experiences. Symbolised by a six-petaled flower, the strategy drives the enterprise towards new strategy. Laurens van den Acker is a highly recognized automobile designer with an established international background. He has been Director of Design within the Renault Group since 2009. Laurens expressed his vision through the creation of six concept-cars representing the diversity the Renault Group has to offer and thus renewing the complete range of their standard vehicles. In 2016, at the International Automobile Festival (IAF) Renault Talisman, the premium sedan in the D segment, was elected “most beautiful car of the year” by the public. Since then, at the world car show in Paris, TreZor, a concept-car, was awarded three European prizes. Personally, Laurens van den Acker was awarded the IAF prize, GQ France and the ”Auto Car designer of the year 2016”. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
