Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop, and in this video, we will tell you about the Beambox lineup of desktop laser cutters and engravers by the Taiwanese company FLUX.

Today, the Beambox series of compact laser cutting machines includes two devices: the base model, equipped with a 40-watt carbon dioxide laser, and the Pro version, powered by a 50 watt laser. The dimensions of the working area of the base model are 400x375 millimeters, while the Pro can handle workpieces of up to 200 millimeters longer.

The laser power of both models is enough for processing a wide range of materials. Made of metal, the body of the laser cutters is also equipped with a transparent acrylic cover.

The small laser spot diameter allows engraving with an accuracy of five hundredths of a millimeter and a resolution of 1000 dots per inch.

The built-in HD camera greatly simplifies and speeds up the process, introducing an augmented reality feature into the workflow. After the workpiece is installed in the designated area of the device, it is displayed on the computer with the pattern in overlay mode. The user can understand what the end result will be before starting the machine.

The hardware is powered by Beam Studio software running on Windows and macOS, with the Beam Go app also available for mobile devices. The software allows editing text and vector files, as well as modifying bitmaps directly in the app.

Beam Studio supports importing files and projects from Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, Inkscape, CorelDraw, Microsoft Word. The software works with JPG, PNG, SVG or DXF formats. Transfer of finished files for engraving and cutting is possible via USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection.

Beambox machines are capable of working with wood, plastics, fabrics, leather, glass and metals. The nominal cutting thickness of the base version is five millimeters, while the Pro model can cut through a thickness of eight millimeters. This parameter depends on the type of material being used.

FLUX engineers equipped the devices with a 7-inch color touch screen for controlling the operating modes.

The developers at FLUX also paid particular attention to safety and introduced automatic shutdown when the top cover is open, an internal water cooling system, and a one-click emergency kill switch.

FLUX recommends purchasing the Beam Air purification module with a four-stage filtration system. Other useful options for the Beambox include a rotary engraving module for cylindrical surfaces and an autofocus add-on.
