I've been wanting to make flask sleeves for a very long time. Somehow I was thinking that in order to make one, I needed a lot of tools and/or fancy equipment, or a very specific design.
Then I realised I could just make my own, with the tools I already have and in my own style.
So I decided to make one. Then I made another one. And then a third one. Each time, I changed the style of the leather sleeve, and also the technique used to make it or to stitch it.
This video is the second one of a series of three in which I show the different styles and techniques you can use to make you own.
In this video called "the laser engraver way", I've used 1mm/3oz vegetable tanned leather and my newly acquired laser engraver. I wanted a "western/saloon" look for this flask, something very different than the first one which was more fancy and clean. This time I also used a different technique for stitching which hides the thread behind the leather.
I hope you'll like the video and get inspired to make your own.
Stay tune for part 3.
As always, thank you for watching, be good, be safe, keep making, and see you in the next one!
