Things Even I Can Do: Episode 4. This video shows how to flush a tankless water heater with vinegar as part of a preventative maintenance routine. Do it yourself! In areas with hard water, this flush should happen at least annually to descale the unit. If you have a water softener, annual flushes are probably not necessary, but should still be done periodically. This video is fairly detailed and intended for folks who have not performed a flush in the past.
