I've been getting a question a lot lately, "Can I take a cutting from a plant with a flower on it?" Well, the answer is simply, yes. All you need to do to prepare the cutting for propagation is cut the flower off. It's that simple. You're still dealing with all the same science behind cuttings and how they root. In fact, it may be more beneficial to snip the tip off the top of a cutting whether it has a bloom or not. This will redirect the flow of energy into producing roots instead of blooms or vegetative growth.
