Going the Distance, produced by Jessie Beers-Altman, shares the story of the most unlikely, but popular race at the Penn Relays, and how the definition of “athlete” is truly ageless.

Jessie Beers-Altman is a Boston-based filmmaker and educator. A graduate of Boston University's MFA Film Production program, her experience includes independent documentary, broadcast television, educational video, corporate, promotional, non-profit, and web. As a storyteller, Jessie focuses on human-interest stories about people who are marginalized, march to a different beat, or seek to exist outside of their prescribed roles. In addition to filmmaking, Jessie lectures at Boston University and Emerson College, and is an active member of the New England Non-Fiction Cartel. As the daughter of an artist father and musician mother, Jessie picked a career in film to uphold the family tradition of avoiding a 9 to 5 desk job. She lives in Somerville, MA with her husband, Chris, their cats Wagner & Dixie, and their dog... a rambunctious boxer pup named Zoey.
