Don't judge a book by it's cover. That's the motto for this episode of TestDrive Spotlight as we take a deep dive on the new Hyundai Tucson. This radical update gives us a look at Hyundai's Parametric Dynamics, a design element that is somewhat futuristic in it's sharp lines and jewel-like surfaces. Our full tour and review on this compact crossover goes over everything potential buyers will want to know, including the MSRPs in Canada and the United States. We discuss the exterior features such as the LED headlights, integrated LED daytime running lights, full suite of enhanced safety technology, remote parking feature, keyless entry, remote starter, and the details about the hybrid system.

We jump inside the updated interior to talk about the dual 10.25" infotainment screens, the soft-touch heating controls, minimalistic interior layout, and the comfort of the front seats. Hyundai says some features are new for the Tucson including the hood-less full digital gauge cluster, and a multi-airflow vent system. We discuss the interior feel and features along with some of the tech not offered on this trim in the US that must be added as an option, like the auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink. Interior space is good on this 2022 Hyundai Tucson, as the North American market gets a long wheelbase version of this crossover.

We take the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate Hybrid on a real-world road test to talk about how this crossover is as a daily driver, including our independent fuel economy testing, how it compares to other hybrids we've driven recently along with some of the popular crossovers we've tested. We talk about how the ride, drive, and overall experience is for buyers, and some of the reasons you'd be interested in looking at this model.
