Flying for Britain' is a drama-documentary that follows Johnny Smythe from Sierra Leone, West Africa, to recruitment into the wartime RAF and his experiences of combat flying as the navigator of a Stirling Bomber.

In June 1948, Flight Lieutenant Smythe was the Welfare Officer on board the Empire Windrush, and the film explores the crucial role he played in shaping modern Britain. The drama also highlights other notable RAF personnel Sam King and Baron Baker's contribution to the Windrush legacy.
