I’ve owned my Hyundai Elantra GT for five years and put 100,000 miles on it. The primary reason I like it is that it’s extremely economical. The gas mileage is great, and parts for maintenance are inexpensive and easy to find. The true cost of ownership — factoring in fuel, insurance, maintenance and purchase price — is really low. It’s also very easy to work on if you’re a DIY’er. Anyway, after five years of ownership here are my thoughts on the Hyundai reliability as it pertains to the Elantra.
