Public Comment Open Until July 8, 2020
The public is invited to comment on the Proposed Plan for the remediation process for the Rand Historic Mining Complex, Operable Unit 3, located near Johannesburg, California. The Proposed Plan details the preferred alternative and related costs with cleaning up mine waste associated with historic mining activities to include excavating 45,700 yards of mine waste, consolidating and containing the waste in a permanent storage cell near the area, and capping it with native soil.
