Based on a traditional Palestinian lullaby, this piece is dedicated to my beloved friend Palestinian singer, poet & activist who fought till her last breath for freedom & peace. This lullaby is for all the thousands of innocent children who have been killed in Gaza & all those who have survived but are orphans. May peace rise from the rubble of destruction for all the children of the Holy Land in Palestine & Israel. They all deserve a life of freedom, security, hope & dignity 🕊️

O Night, how long you are
You made me walk barefoot
O balance how heavy you are
You exhausted my shoulders
My heart aches for you
O mother, my black hair has turned grey
O mother, my hair has fallen
O mother, do not think that if this diaspora stretches, we will forget you
O camel rider, my cousin
Take my greetings to my mother and father
Greetings from my soul and words from my mouth
Greetings to my gentle sister who is far from me
