BMW How-To shows you in this video how with the Charging Management features in the My BMW app, you can remotely control and check the charging process of your fully electric of Plug-in Hybrid BMW. The vehicle status in the vehicle tab shows you the current state of charge and driving range of your vehicle. When currently charging, it shows the expected remaining charging time. Open “Charge & Climate” in the vehicle tab to plan charging times and preconditioning of the vehicle interior. Activate “Charge immediately” to start charging immediately once the vehicle is plugged-in. Or select “charge in time slot” to set a preferred start charging time, for example to profit from lower electricity prizes. In the “Charge and Climate” menu activate “Precondition for departure” and select your usual departure times for each day of the week or set a “one-off timer” for today overriding/pausing the weekly timer. The vehicle will activate the air conditioning automatically before the set departure times. Press “Send to vehicle” to save and activate all your current charge and climate settings.

In the vehicle tab open the “Charging History” to get an overview of all charging sessions of the vehicle since linking it to your My BMW App. Every history entry includes an overview about Date and Time, Location, Charging Duration and the estimated used amount of electric energy. By selecting one history entry additional information is shown about whether or not preconditioning was activated and – if available – the estimated charging costs for charging sessions at non-public locations. Select “New Tariff” to enter known energy costs for non-public charging connection. You can select if the energy rate is valid “All day” or enter multiple rates for different time slots. Future “Charging History” entries at the same location will now include a cost estimation and possible “Savings” from using a set charging time slot. The My BMW App informs you with push notifications about charging incidents or when your BMW is fully charged.
