When I traveled to Tuktoyaktuk, on the Arctic Ocean in the Northwest Territories of Canada, I learned about a way of life far different than my own. Here is a culture where people must endure some of the harshest conditions on earth, and survive largely on what they can hunt, fish, or forage from the land. I ate one of the native foods that few in the world have ever tried. I met and interviewed locals and they shared their stories and discoveries of historic treasures with me. I also saw the youth center that was built by rock n' roll, when Metallica did a concert here.
