Namira Islam hosts Kameelah Mu’min Rashad and Alaa Murabit in an engaging discussion on social justice. As a minority community facing targeted racism as well as Islamophobic attacks, we have the opportunity to share with society and the world our faith-based values of service, compassion, and social justice. However, in order to do so, we must first have an open and honest dialogue about our own understanding of oppression and whether our actions or inactions perpetuate it. This session will aim to understand our history and exposure to systemic oppression, our roles in perpetuating it, and guidelines to transform ourselves into positive agents serving to counter systematic oppression.
