In this style analysis, I'll be covering Nina Sayers from the film Black Swan. This analysis will breakdown the style transformation of Nina in relation to her mental state through costume design/styling and psychoanalytic theories. Through understanding the different styling techniques, the symbolism of behind pieces, and her fashion influences we will see how societal standards, external pressures, and inner turmoil translate tangibly to contribute to the visual narration of Nina's transformation from the 'White Swan' to the 'Black Swan.'

I'll also be sharing some insight of the fashion brand Rodarte and the contribution of sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy with their artful, captivating, and emotional pieces- along with featuring the fashion illustrations and works of Amy Wescott for the costumes in the film.
