In a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, President Biden stressed the need for Israel to protect civilians in Gaza during Israel’s planned invasion of Rafah.

According to the White House, the two also discussed the ongoing talks to release hostages being held by Hamas and increasing humanitarian aid in the region.
