In the market for a compact crossover? visit the CarGurus blog for our full run-down: https://cargur.us/zSSQK
With a distinctive face and a class-leading warranty, a used Kia Sportage is a stand out option for shoppers looking to spend $10,000 or less on a compact crossover.
Likewise, the second-generation Nissan Rogue remains a practical and cost-effective option on the used market, although its engine and transmission haven’t always won rave reviews.
In the ten-to-twenty-thousand-dollar range, a used Honda CR-V shines as an exceptionally well-balanced choice.
And for those looking for luxury on a budget, the Infiniti QX30 looks great in traffic without breaking the bank, especially if you’re shopping used.
If you’re looking to spend between twenty and thirty thousand dollars, the second-generation Mazda CX-5 is, in CarGurus’ opinion, the best-driving crossover you can buy. Even lightly used, the CX-5’s graceful design is sure to age well.
But if the ability to get just about anywhere is your driving factor behind shopping for a crossover, you’d do a lot worse than a fourth-generation Subaru Forester. With standard all-wheel drive and great outward visibility, the Forester has won plenty of devoted fans in snowy regions.
Budgeting between thirty and forty thousand dollars will put you firmly in luxury-crossover territory. Few used crossovers make as much of an impression as the Jaguar F-Pace, which delivers great cargo space and one of the more exciting driving experiences you can find in a crossover.
If something Swedish is more your style, consider a lightly used Volvo XC60. This brand’s commitment to safety means you’ll likely find plentiful advanced driver-assistance features to go along with a sophisticated design.
Finally, bumping your budget north of forty grand will put a lightly used Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class within reach. With a great blend of style, performance, and tech, the GLC is a best-in-class luxury sampler.
And if top-tier materials and even more impressive driving dynamics are what you’re after, no car in the compact crossover segment delivers them quite as well as the Porsche Macan.
