In this interview, we discuss the process and benefits of vertical farming. He explains how vertical farming combines hydroponics and LED lights to grow plants without soil and in a controlled environment. Matt also highlights the environmental advantages of vertical farming, such as reduced water usage, pollution and waste. Matt discusses the scalability of vertical farming and its potential to provide consistent and locally grown produce to major retailers, emphasising, that vertical farming is not a replacement for traditional agriculture but rather a complementary solution to address food supply chain challenges.
