Established in 2020,  FasterCures, a Center of the Milken Institute's LeadersLink Program is a capacity-building program to support the personal development of an emerging cadre of leaders of nonprofit organizations that fund or conduct biomedical research. LeadersLink focuses on building participants’ leadership skills and professional network and addressing their top priorities through mentorship, a capstone project, a series of convenings, virtual collaboration, and access to Milken Institute events and networks.

"I joined the LeadersLink program because I knew that the connections and access to the multitude of experts within the broader FasterCures and Milken Institute networks would be invaluable as I navigated my first role as a non-profit leader."

Katrin Ericson, PhD, is the Executive Director of the RUNX1 Research Program. She supports research and development, patient outreach, and education-focused initiatives for both the medical community and RUNX1 familial platelet disorder patient community. As part of her capstone, Ericson used her learnings from trying to build a venture philanthropy model for the RUNX1 Research Program to launch the Cures Playbook, a podcast that utilizes the lenses of business and scientific strategy, well-rounded leadership, and humanity to offer insight to healthcare leaders on how to make a targeted impact on the diseases they work to cure.
