As slick as they are, the burton step on doesn't work for anyone but the casual cruiser. The movement of the boot within the binding is so great it frustrates when it comes to riding and carving and ultimately results in the boot releasing when carving heelside. However I fixed the issues and now there is zero boot movement inside the binding (see photos in comments). I also made some other mods for convenience - releasing without having to bend over).
