How To Use Twitch Stories

The new feature is called the Twitch Stories, which are pretty much the same as YouTube Stories, Instagram Stories, and Snapchat Stories… essentially, posting short vertical updates from your mobile app, that go to a Stories shelf on your viewers mobile app, and stay there for 48 hours.

Any Affiliate or Partner with a Stream in the last 45 days can go to the Create Tab on the Twitch App, and select Stories.

These can be photos you take or have on your phone, or they can be Twitch clips from your channel, which is honestly awesome for keeping in touch with viewers.

Viewers can check these out on the mobile app, and add little emoji reactions to it, which you can see an analytical breakdown of in your dashboard, and if you have enough Paid Subs then you’ll also be able to set certain stories to Subs Only.

What Are The Featured Twitch Clips And Twitch Discovery Feed

Featured Clips are essentially highlighted Twitch Clips, Streamers can pick Clips out of their channel and set them to Featured, allowing them to appear across Twitch, on their twitch homepage, and in the new Discovery Feed, which is a TikTok style swipe discovery feed.

Twitch announced the goal is to connect their new Vertical Clip editor to the discovery feed, in their recent blog post, where they also announce Trimming and aspect ratio changes.

In the future, this discovery feed might actually show decent edited content, but for now, you can select the best clips of your channel to be featured, and if you feature the best clips on your channel, you might have a better chance at discovery.

What Is Twitch Partner Plus?

Partner Plus is a extra Tier of Twitch Partner that unlocks a 70/30 Sub Split.

To be elligble however, you need 350 Partner Plus Points, these are different to Sub Points, but similar in the sense that you gain more Partner Plus points the more Subs you have, specificlaly the more Paid Tier 1s, 2s, and 3s, with each higher tier being worth more Points, 1 for 1, 2 for 2, and 3 for 6 points.

The difference comes into play because Gifted and Primes do not count towards Partner Plus Points, but if you become eligible for Partner Plus, Gifted Subs will be given the 70/30 split, but Primes will stay the same flat rate they’ve always been.

If you unlock Partner Plus, you’ll have the split for the next 12 months of your stream, or until reach 100,000 dollars earned annually, anything after goes back to the normal split… which for most won’t matter but it is weird that they set this.

Can you now Simulcast or Multistream on Twitch?

Dan Clancy the CEO of Twitch announced in the Opening of Twitch Con, how Twitch will now allow anyone to go live on any platform at the same time as Twitch.
