The performance of the 2020 CX-9 has been enhanced. The turbocharged Skyactiv-G 2.5T engine equipped on all CX-9 models now delivers a robust 320 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane gasoline (310 lb-ft of torque on 87 octane gasoline); an increase of 10 lb-ft of torque on the outgoing model year. The turbocharged engine is rated to deliver up to 250 horsepower on 93 octane gasoline (227 horsepower on 87 octane gasoline) and is paired with a quick-shifting, six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission. Mazda's predictive i-Activ all-wheel drive is standard in CX-9 Signature and available on all other trim levels.

Test note for the Mazda Cx-9 0-60 Mph / 0-100 Km/h: We used 91 octane fuel ( because 93 is not available in our city ) and it was raining outside. As usual, Mazda's vehicle doesn't show impressive numbers for the HP/TQ announced. The Mazda Cx-9 remains fun to drive! Put it into sport mode and forget about a gas brake launch, just accelerate. There is a big delay once you floor it versus the time it starts moving ( typical Mazda behavior ).
