It's been almost a decade since Interstellar came out, and to this day I don't think I have watched anything like it. Don't get me wrong, there has been a lot of movies that I really enjoyed since then, but as a viewing experiene, nothing has even come close to it. So, Why is Interstellar the BEST movie experience I've had?

A movie experience is different from the movie. A movie experience includes your subjective experience of watching the movie, and this includes your emotions, and feelings and all those things that you feel during a movie, and this is often different from the objective story of the movie. So, maybe there is a bit of bias when you pick your favorite movie experience, but if you watched Interstellar at the movie theater, you'd know what the heck I'm talking about.

Watching Interstellar at the movie theater was one of the most surreal experiences that I've ever had. And I'm not even joking. And believe me you, I haven't felt that way ever again while watching a movie.

Concepts and music are necessary to turn a movie into a movie experience, and normally movies do one or the other quite brilliantly. But rarely do you see an amalgam of good sound design and a great concept sort of brushing off of each other to create a movie experience. And Interstellar is one of those rare movies with outstanding sound design and an incredible concept, envisoned by a great director in Christopher Nolan and a masterful composer in Hans Zimmer. And Interstellar is probaly their magnum opus. Atleast in my eyes.

And this video essay is a celebration of the wonderful movie that is Interstellar and how it became the best movie experience I've had...
