The Twin Turbo V8 engine found in the F10 M5 and F90 M5 along with it's variants is an incredible design, capable of making monster power with very few modifications. However there is one weak point as the power starts to climb - the connecting rods.

As standard especially on the F90 M5 the stock turbo's can produce so much torque that is bends a rod, potentially destroying the engine. Mr VANOS worked with Arrow to produce a drop in uprated forged connecting rod that is rated to take 1400NM of torque. This allows the engine to safely produce up to and over 1000hp, and run deep in to the 9s 1/4 miles.

We visit Mr VANOS and talk to Steve about the process and details of the new rods, and see an engine be rebuilt using them.
