Back in the 1990’s, the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton was already one of the busiest airfields in Europe. For a week in June, 1994 it got even more hectic.

1994 was the 50th anniversary of the D-Day landings, and to celebrate this milestone, 12 countries sent aircraft to the south Somerset airfield, where they would take part in ceremonial celebrations on the 5th of June.

Seldom has such an eclectic mix of fast jets been gathered in one place…

This videos footage was filmed at Yeovilton on Monday, 6th June. It shows the airbase on a normal working day with its Sea Harrier & Hawker Hunter aircraft going about their daily training.

The video also shows various aircraft departing back to their home bases, while others carry out flights to undertake more flypasts at various locations around the Southern England.

F-14 Tomcat, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18 Hornet, Mig-29, Tornado GR.1, Sea Harrier, Harrier T.4N, Hawker Hunter among others….what’s not to love?
