This webinar reviews the state of the art in urban containment in cities worldwide and focus on three case studies: the green belt of Seoul; urban-growth boundaries in South Africa; and the green belt of London. Discussion following the case studies focuses on successes, failures, and consequences—both intended and unintended—of efforts to contain urban expansion. William A. Fischel (Dartmouth College) moderates a panel that includes Director of Urban Expansion, Solly Angel, Myung-Jin Jun (Chung-Ang University), Anele Horn (Stellenbosch University), and Alan Mace (London School of Economics).
