Godzilla vs. Kong is coming, and we have to get mentally, physically, and emotionally ready. This is the first time we will see both monsters on the silver screen since 1962, and this is our version of boxing’s tale of the tape. We are going to go through Godzilla’s illustrious human and monster fighting career to highlight his most overpowered hits, wielding the tale that Kong is no match for this Kaiju.

An undeniable staple of monster movies, he’s used dirty boxing, nasty nuclear blasts, and even accidentally causing tsunamis to take back the Earth. He’s taken on humans from the future and extraterrestrials, making him a seasoned on screen combat veteran. We’re going to highlight moments over the last 66 years when he survived ridiculously insane attacks and still came out on top. Some of these moments were really funny. Others were incredibly scary. And some just have us wondering: “what in the name of King Ghidorah did we just see”?

After World War II, Kaiju culture came to prominence in Japan and caught on all around the world with the advent of Toho’s Godzilla in 1954. The old monster comes from the sea to reclaim the Earth and has destroyed Tokyo and its Army over and over again. Its influence on world cinema and it’s innovation to the world of practical effect are undeniable, and continues to delight fans of monster movies and disaster movies to this day.
