How to make your own platform for the dog? Summers are getting warmer and our dog loves to swim, but not in our little pool. Mikky, our Friese Stabij, never goes into the water if she can't walk in it. She doesn't jump from the side. She also has to be sure she can walk out of the water.

Because our little pool, a plunge, doesn't have steps (or a ladder) where she can walk in and out of the water, she won't go into the water. She will never jump in.

But the summers are getting hotter and hotter, it sometimes gets up to 96 fahrenheit, and because of that our dog needs to be cooled down from time to time.

So I went looking for materials to build a dog shelf. I didn't buy anything, but used stuff that do already have in the house. A scaffolding board, artificial grass, an anvil, a staple gun and a broken tennis ball to make a diy dog ramp.

Of course, when the pool ramp was finished, we had to get Mikky used to the new hazard at the pool. Would she start using it? Does she like her Portable Pet Ramp?
