The Dale by 20th Century Automobiles was the vehicle scam of last century. This century that award may belong to Elio Motors and their three-wheeled vehicle was supposed to sell for under $7K and get 84 mpg. This garnered $28.7 million dollars in reservations, but nobody ever was able to get a car.
