This Breaking Dad Dessert Dancing scene is made in Unreal Engine, as a case study in well — the Unreal Engine. And i just got this image in my head from the Breaking Bad Dessert scene — a dance scene where Walter White and Jessie dances in a rather crazy way.

Everything is set up in Unreal Engine, and Real Time Rendered. What you see is what you get — in regards to light, shadows, textures in Unreal Engine. Especially since Epic Games launched Unreal Engine 5 with the Nanite system and the Lumen Global illumination, Unreal Engine really has been a game changer.

The smoke from the RV is also a Real time rendering in Unreal Engine, using the Niagara fluid system.

The dance animations is based on Adobes Mixamo system, and the Breaking Bad characters, Walter White and Jessie and the RV Car 3D models are partly modelled and acquired from Turbosquid, Sketchfab and CG Trader.

The landscape is shaped of elements from the amazing Quixel Bridge library, which is directly integrated with the Unreal Engine. Quixel Bridge uses Megascans and the library is simply amazing.

The music is from the series Breaking Bad itself — Seaon 3, episode 11 — and is made by "Son of Dave" and called "Shake a bone." Excellent piece of soundtrack that fits the spirit of the Breaking Bad series.

I would like to thank Son of Dave for his music and for allowing me to use his song "Shake a bone" in this case study.

--- A BIT INFORMATION ON UNREAL ENGINE -----

The Unreal Engine is a popular and powerful game development engine created by Epic Games. It provides a comprehensive suite of tools and features for designing, developing, and deploying interactive experiences across various platforms, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices.

Lumen and Nanite are two advanced technologies introduced in Unreal Engine 5, which aim to significantly enhance real-time rendering capabilities.

Lumen is a global illumination system that enables realistic lighting in real-time. It simulates the indirect lighting bouncing off surfaces, creating more dynamic and lifelike environments. Lumen uses a combination of ray tracing and other techniques to achieve accurate lighting effects, making it easier for developers to create visually stunning scenes.

Nanite, on the other hand, is a virtualized micropolygon technology that allows for highly detailed and scalable environments. Traditional methods of rendering large scenes involve optimizing or simplifying complex models, but Nanite eliminates the need for such optimization. It can render an enormous amount of geometric detail without sacrificing performance by dynamically streaming only the required portions of the scene. This means that developers can have incredibly high-resolution assets without worrying about performance constraints.

Together, Lumen and Nanite revolutionize real-time rendering, providing developers with tools to create more realistic and immersive experiences. These technologies are particularly beneficial for game developers, architects, filmmakers, and other professionals working with real-time visualization and interactive applications.

----- A BIT ABOUT THE BREAKING BAD SHOW ----

Breaking Bad is my personal favourite when it comes to serieses. I absolutely love the show and how Walther White evolves from season to season. Especially when we come to season 5 and you think to yourself; Now; they can't take that character and put him in another direction psychologically. And then .... booom ... .Breaking Bad season 5 takes ofn and they have completely transformed him. I am so impressed.

Breaking Bad is a critically acclaimed television series that originally aired from 2008 to 2013. Created by Vince Gilligan, it tells the story of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher turned methamphetamine producer, and his former student, Jesse Pinkman. Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Breaking Bad explores the transformation of Walter from a mild-mannered family man into a morally ambiguous and increasingly ruthless criminal mastermind.
