Islam teaches that marriage fulfils the deep need for comfort and companionship that men find in women and women find in men. Men and women complete one another: “They are a garment for you, and you are a garment for them,” God tells us. The Arabic original of this verse clearly describes marriage as a matter between men and women, so how should we go about finding our potential spouse?
