Re:Zero is dark. And because of it's inherently dark nature, plus a very worrying answer from Tappei Nagatsuki (author of Re Zero) in a Q&A, many believe that Re:Zero's ending may be dark, or at the very least bittersweet.

But that's not gonna happen.

In this video essay, I look at the themes throughout all of Re Zero, and explain why a "bad" ending wouldn't work for it. Re Zero NEEDS a happy ending. Here's why.
