New Orleans, Louisiana: the home of Mardi Gras, and the musical and cultural hotbed of the southern United States. The city’s culture derived itself from a blend of French, Spanish, African-American, Creole and Native American roots. We explore her streets lined with French colonial-style buildings, and resonate with her vibrant atmosphere, along the promenades full of revelry and street music.

Featuring aerial footage of this city of revelry along the Mississipi, an inside look at landmarks such as the “Napoleon’s House”, the St Louis Cathedral, and more, we get a taste of Louisiana’s colorful history. Under French colonial rule it was a place where France sent their prostitutes, smugglers, counterfeiters and other petty criminals to start new lives. It became a haven and the beating heart of a vibrant, longstanding African-American community with deep roots.
