Generally, you want a company that has at least a B or B + financial rating, and a company that has been around for a while. Additionally, it’s good to see a company that offers many different lines of coverage (like life insurance, dental/vision insurance, ect)- this is another signifier of their financial strength. A company with strong financial will be better able to keep rate increases mild over time.
