On this day the D&S booked extra passengers creating a longer consist that required two locomotives to get to Silverton. 473 ran as a helper for 480 first joining past the Animas river bridge in Durango and later separating at Rockwood to rejoin at a watering station. I have little knowledge on D&S’s operations so if anyone knows how often this occurs let me know. I apologize for any shaky or poor camera movements, I’m far from a skilled photographer.
