The Global City: A monthly review of London's post-Brexit future, with Barney Reynolds (Shearman & Sterling), Daniel Hodson (CityUnited) and Andy Ross (CurveGlobal)

Why you should watch: The City of London's relationship with Brussels is important - but there is a wider world out there. Are we taking advantage of it? Or are we in danger of letting our relationship with Brussels blind us to other opportunities? Over the last month, attention has been focused on the MoU - and there has certainly been a shift in tone (generally, for the better). But the key (emphasised by all the speakers) is that the City's success has been built on satisfying its clients' needs, and it must continue to be responsive to its customers - not merely reactive to the carrots and sticks offered by the EU.

Moderators: Andrew Hilton (Director, CSFI) & Jane Fuller (Co-director, CSFI)

Panellists:

Barney Reynolds is global head of the financial services industry group at Shearman & Sterling in London, and a member of the firm's executive group. He is the author of 'A blueprint for Brexit', 'A template for enhanced equivalence', and 'Restoring UK law - freeing the UK's global financial market'.

Daniel Hodson is chairman of the CityUnited Project, which aims to promote a global presence for the City of London. He is a former director (and chairman of the Compliance Committee) at VoteLeave, a former chairman of BPL Holdings, a former Master of the Mercers' Company, a former Professor of Commerce at Gresham College and a former CEO of LIFFE.

Andy Ross is CEO of CurveGlobal, an LSEG company set up in 2015 (with the collaboration of half a dozen major banks and the CBoE) to provide a trading venue for interest rate derivatives. He was formerly head of listed electronic execution and European head of derivatives clearing at Morgan Stanley.
