Before Kirsten Green secured the first fund for her all-women venture capital firm Forerunner Ventures, she became intrigued with a yet-to-launch startup called Dollar Shave Club. So she borrowed $350,000 to invest in it before launch, and Dollar Shave recently sold for $1 billion. Forerunner also made a prescient bet on Jet.com, the shopping site that Walmart plans to buy for $3.3 billion.
She is interviewed onstage at the Code Commerce conference in Las Vegas, October 25, 2016, by Recode co-founder and Executive Editor Kara Swisher.
The second edition of the Code Commerce Series was held in conjunction with the Money20/20 conference.
