BMW CFRP Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics - PRODUCTION

Sheets of CFRP are seen arranged on rollers, with a detailed view highlighting the material's texture. These sheets are then unrolled into a 5-layer preform material, with various shots capturing the process from different angles. Close-up shots reveal the intricate layers of the preform material as it is being formed. The CFRP sheets are cut and transported further through the facility, passing through a heating zone.

The process includes scanning of component codes and quality control measures, such as removing trimming and cleaning tools. The preform blanks are then placed into an RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) press tool, with shots showing the closing of the tool slide and the extraction of the preform blank after resin injection. Workers apply release agents and clean the tool surface before inserting the preform blanks into the RTM tool. Once the resin injection process is complete, the tool portal opens, revealing the finished carbon components.

Workers carry out final processing tasks, such as the component edges and conducting quality control checks on the finished carbon components.
