This video illustrates the high level of automated manufacturing being used at TEAM Industries. At the start, an operator is manually loading heavy, ductile iron clutch discs into turning fixtures on two vertical lathes. The remainder of the video illustrates the benefits of automation using robotics. As can be seen, the robot loads the same type of part first into a vertical CNC mill and then into the turning fixtures of the two vertical lathes. After the turning is complete, the robot removes the part, blows the fixture clean, and loads the next part. The robot presents the part to a checking fixture for quality control measurements, and finally moves it through another milling operations. Four machining operations without human contact.
The final part of the video shows another automated manufacturing cell where shafts are machined in a CNC lathe, robotically transferred to two automated rolling machines that roll splines and threads on both ends, and finally transferred to a conveyer washing machine that cleans the parts and applies rust inhibitors.
