In this episode, I talk about making magnetic game dial prototypes for an upcoming Kickstarter, Fable's End. Stephen, one of my viewers, asked me to help prototype these game dials, using his artwork. I was impressed with his artwork and intrigued with using magnets to hold the dials together, something I haven't tried before.
Stephen is a talented artist who has done all the artwork for his game, and it is beautiful! I talk about how I converted his images into vector drawings in Illustrator, how I created larger prototypes using magnets I had on hand, and show how I embedded the magnets in the final, smaller dials which fit into the Fable's End box.
I also share my technique for working with small rare earth magnets, which can be tricky!
