‘Fate’ is a rework of an original recording of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony from the 1920’s, available on ‘Parallels (Beethoven): Shellac Reworks by Christian Löffler’.

“I built the whole song around the first minute of the piece”, boldly adding beats to one of the worlds most renowned string sequences.

Fate and Parallels are brought to you with support from Google Arts & Culture in 2019

With one of the oldest sound archives in the world dating back to 1898, Deutsche Grammophon has taken care to store material ever since its foundation. Through a new collaborative restoration project with Google Arts & Culture a number of historic shellac discs, the dominant recording format until the 1930s, have now been digitised and remastered, including the decades-old recordings of Beethoven’s music.
