How to make a dowel cutter for making wooden dowels using only a nut and a drill. No need for fancy chisels or complicated jigs. I will show you how to modify a basic hardware store nut so you can make your own dowels in seconds.

This is by far the easiest and fastest way to make wooden dowels or round sticks. Great for different types of wood joinery (Dowel Joinery) and making your own wood plugs to cover wood screws.

It took me three days to figure out the best configuration to file into this nut but once I did, I was able to easily make wooden dowels from home and you can to. It only takes 15 minutes to modify a nut and can be reused many times in the future without having to mess around with setting up chisels or complicated jigs.
