The Subaru Forester is one of the compact SUV segment's pioneers and has evolved with the times. The Forester suffers no real downsides other than, perhaps, more powertrain options to properly compete with other compact SUVs. Otherwise, it's spacious, rides nicely, and is fairly reliable. It is in fact one of the best SUVs in the segment, period.
