Paul Woodman takes the stunning, Maserati MC20 to a race track at Portimao in Portugal, to test the new Bridgestone Potenza race tyre! The tyres are the only part of the car that remain in contact with the road, so are really important!

The MC20 produces 630HP and 730NM of torque from it's turbocharged, 3.0L V6 engine. 0-62MPH takes 2.9 seconds and goes onto a top speed of over 200MPH.

The new tyres are the latest editions to the Bridgestone Potenza range, and are the first replacement tyre for track days. Bridgestone have plenty of heritage when it comes to racing, having supplied Formula 1 cars with tyres between 1997 and 2010. so know what they're doing when it comes to track driving. In addition to this, they also provide the tyres for many supercars, such as the Lamborghini Huracan STO to hot hatches such as the Cupra Leon.

The Potenza tyre originally came out in 1980, fitted to the famous Porsche 959. From there, it was also fitted to the Ferrari Enzo! Bridgestone have been doing testing themselves too, and the new Potenza tyre was 2 seconds a lap quicker than their competitors from Michelin and Goodyear, which makes a difference when on track!
