Film director Sydney POLLACK was born on July 1st, 1934 (- May 26th, 2008). He started by studying acting with Sanford Meisner whom he will assist for years, coaching actors, before going into directing (Tootsie, Out Of Africa, The Firm, Three Days Of The Condor, The Way We Were, Michael Clayton, Jeremiah Johnson, They Shoot Horses Don’t They, …), producing (The Talented Mr Ripley, …) and eventually gong back in front of the camera from time to time (Tootsie, Made of Honor, ...)

In this compilation, he is seen sharing insights on directing, acting, the Meisner Technique that he taught and how it informed his directing.
