Two years ago, when Jacquelyn Jones twisted her knee while in a grocery store parking lot, she knew immediately something was wrong. After a physician informed her she tore her meniscus and would need knee surgery, the 72-year-old had surgery in her hometown of Gatesville in June of 2021. But, she continued to feel discomfort and instability when walking.

In need of relief, Jacquelyn traveled to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, where orthopedic surgeon Dr. Vilas Saldanha informed her that not only had she stretched ligaments in her knee, she also had a broken knee cap, or a Patella avulsion fracture.

On Jan. 12, Dr. Saldanha performed the first knee revision in Central Texas on Jacquelyn using a specific robotic technology. After a few weeks of recovery, Jacquelyn is already able to enjoy the hobbies she previously engaged in like gardening and spending time with her great grandchildren.
