"For Entertainment Purposes Only"

It is advised that one might view this long video at 1.5x speed, as it is slow and drawn out.

First and foremost, kudos to Larry KN4KNL, for a proper net control station for tonight's (04/25/24) net. Some things transpired that are somewhat unusual. In an emergency, one might encounter a pile up on an ARES net. It happens on HF bands, especially during Field Day and other big contest events. People become competitive and walk all over each other. This might not be considered rude from where you come but, this isn't a race or contest. There is no award for number of contacts or finishing in "first or second place". This is why it's called a controlled net, with a net control station. There was enough kerfuffle as it was, net control was flustered and the competitive stations did not help. It's best, when instructed to check in as a portable station, to take turns and listen for other weak stations to check in. Poor Larry, a good guy, even skipped stations, one of his best friends as a result. I reassured him afterward that he did a good job, honest mistakes happen. He owned up to it like a good guy, admitted hearing impairment which is inconsequential to me, having working with various physical impairments of others for decades. By the way, these two guys to my knowledge, do not participate in actual nets during times necessary, to my knowledge. Sometimes, one should just sit back and listen, if you're only interest is being seen, heard or listened to.
