Two CRPF personnel lost their lives, and two others got hurt in a suspected insurgent attack early this morning in Manipur's Bishnupur district. It's reported that a group of alleged Kuki insurgents fired shots from a hillside in Naranseina village towards a central security force post in the valley area.
The situation worsened when a bomb exploded inside the outpost, causing severe injuries to four personnel. Despite prompt medical attention, two security personnel died, while two are currently receiving treatment.
Senior police officials mentioned that this attack comes just six days before the first anniversary of the Manipur crisis, suggesting that militants hiding in the hills might intensify attacks in the upcoming days.
